Summary
Presentation given at Liège Creative on 2 December 2011 on the advantages and dangers of the descriptive seizure (saisie-contrefaçon). It first presents the main intellectual property rights, creations on the one hand and distinctive signs on the other, and the remedies available: action on the merits, cease and desist proceedings, summary proceedings, criminal action and customs measures. It then explains the seizure procedure and illustrates its risks through a real-life case.
